Atawhai Assisi Resthome went into total lockdown on March 22nd 2020 after a resident was diagnosed With Covid-19. The resident had been visited by his daughter who came from overseas and tested positive.
Atawhai Assisi stepped up their PPE and took the approach of ‘cleaning from the outside in’.
Every surface from the front door in was disinfected several times a day with QualChem EzyDose Outbreak, a Sodium Hypochlorite based Cleaner Sanitiser. After each interaction with residents, staff sanitised their hands using Mode Foaming Hand Sanitiser.
With 87 residents, it is a credit to CEO Louis Fick, General Manager David McGeorge and all of their amazing staff that they managed to contain and stop the spread of Covid-19 by using the correct procedures and cleaning chemicals.
