So what are we doing to change that?
We started by introducing our Whio Blue Duck amenities range with the objective of raising awareness for the Whio by contributing to the blue duck’s conservation each year.
In 2021 QualChem became a proud Partner of Pūkaha, a non-profit national wildlife centre. Pūkaha has released 78 Whio into the wild around the Tongariro/Whanganui regions over the last decade and our annual donation contributes to the captive breeding programmes run at Pūkaha for all of their endangered birds, including the Whio.
We hope to raise awareness for this iconic little bird so it can flourish for many generations to come.
